PCP@Baylor was started in January 2011. As a chapter of the national Primary Care Progress initiative, the focus of our group is promoting awareness of issues relating to primary care as well as developing innovative strategies to the emerging challenges in this field. One way that we plan to accomplish this is by pairing up students, residents, and faculty to work on addressing problems in the delivery of primary care through the Primary Care Innovation Collaborative (PCIC). Also, our chapter is becoming especially involved in practice transformation projects, as many of Baylor physicians convert their practices into patient-centered medical homes.
The leadership team for the 2012-2013 school year has been assembled and we are working towards these goals. We will soon have a meeting (see the events calendar) for prospective members.
